Did you know during World War I Ford started the Ford Airplane Company? It lasted more than a decade but unfortunately in 1933 it was shut down due to Poor Sales. I'm sure if he had anticipated the rise of World War II his mind would have been changed somewhat due to the sheer amount of airplanes being used world wide in the conflict and the subsequent widespread uses of planes thereafter.
In 2002, the US Centennial of Flight Commission recognised Ford as a pioneer of Aviation.
I could have been a far more interesting world if he had persevered for a little longer. Our sky's and means of general travel may have been a lot different. Us for one may have needed a far bigger showroom!
